    Steve Scott is a Chemical Engineer by qualification and a Storage Tank Specialist by experience.  He is a member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, the Institute of Energy and the Institute of Waste Management and has recently qualified as an API Certified Storage Tank Inspector.

  • February to September 2012: Consultant to BP Galeota; Trinidad.
    Specialist sub-consultant (sludge management and tankage specialist) to Tradebe Oil Services on behalf of Neal & Massey Wood Group Ltd. to provide a study relating to the desludging and cleaning of crude oil storage tanks at Galeota Point, to include a review of available techniques and subsequent recommendations. Sludge generated to be accumulated on site for subsequent processing to consultant’s recommendations, taking into account H & S, Local Environmental Legislation and the commerciality of the project in terms of the value of recovered hydrocarbon.
  • January 2012 to May 2012: Study towards qualification as American Petroleum Institute (API) Certified Tank Inspector status.

    Assessment and practical solutions commentary for 3 out of service gasolene storage tanks located at BP’s Fuel Terminal in Beira, Mozambique.
  • 2010 to December 2011: Consultant to Qatar Petroleum Dukhan Field.
    Specialist sub-consultant (oily sludge waste management and tankage specialist) to Worley Parsons Qatar for FEED (Front End Engineering Design) for Feasability & Concept Optimisation Studies for construction of new crude oil storage tanks, tank cleaning, sludge handling and waste management facilities and installation of new main oil line (MOL) and crude transfer lines at QP Dukhan. To include specific consideration of tanks scheduled for demolition.
  • 2010 to Jan 2011: Recovery of Fuel Oil from the Kyung-Shin wreck Korea
    Specialist consultant and project manager for OCEAN – US; recovery of diesel fuel and fuel oil from the wreck of the Kyung-Shin at a depth of 98 metres offshore Korea.
  • 2008 to 2009: Consultant to Qatar Petroleum Halul Terminal.
    Specialist sub-consultant (sludge management) to Worley Parsons Qatar for FEED (Front End Engineering Design) for Integrated Oily Water/Sludge Handling System (tank cleaning, sludge processing, sludge mitigation and oily waste management), Fire Protection for Crude Oil Manifold and Pipeline Replacement at QP Halul Oil Terminal.

    Company whose main activity was the storage and blending of chemical formulations for a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, cleaning, petrochemical and upstream oil industry.
  • 1968 to 1979:         Imperial Chemical Industries, Teesside Operations
    Experimental officer in research and development department with responsibility for trouble shooting and operational performance improvement for Olefins, Paraxylene and Amines production plus various other ad-hoc plant operational projects.
